Core Responsibilities
  • Customer Intake: Greet customers, listen to vehicle issues, and document symptoms clearly on a Repair Order (RO).
  • Technical Liaison: Translate "non-technical" customer descriptions into actionable instructions for technicians.
  • Estimating & Sales: Develop cost and time estimates for labor and parts; identify and recommend necessary preventative maintenance (upselling).
  • Project Management: Schedule appointments, track the progress of repairs, and notify customers of any status changes or additional required work.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain thorough and accurate customer records in management systems, verify warranty/insurance coverage, and process final payments.
  • Quality Assurance: Review completed work with the customer to ensure satisfaction and explain the repairs performed. 
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills for explaining complex mechanical issues to customers and suppliers
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle systems (engines, brakes, electrical/electronics) to provide accurate estimates.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with dealership management systems is a plus. 
  • Sales & Negotiation: Ability to make ethical recommendations and additional services to meet department goals.
  • Education: Minimum high school diploma; vocational training or ASE Service Consultant Certification is often preferred.  Prefer experience of 2 years as a service writer for a dealer or repair facility.

  • Role Overview: Acts as the critical communication bridge between our guests and our technicians, translating vehicle concerns into detailed repair orders.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    Customer Intake: Greet guests, perform vehicle walk-arounds, and document symptoms clearly. 
  • Estimating: Develop accurate cost and time estimates for labor and parts.
  •  Sales & Advocacy: Ethically recommend preventative maintenance and additional repairs identified by technicians.
  •  Workflow Management: Schedule appointments and maintain constant communication with guests regarding repair status.

  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or GED; ASE Service Consultant Certification is a major plus.
    •  Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
    •  2+ years of experience in automotive service writing or customer service.
    •  Proficiency in management software preferred; (esp., Tekmetric)
Compensation: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
